Credential Renewal

Keep your Flux credential active.

Flux certifications require renewal every two years. The process is straightforward: maintain an active $10/year Symetrec membership, earn the required Flux Education Units, and your credential stays active for another two years. Renewal itself is free.

Renewal overview

Simple. Predictable. Earned.

Renewal exists to ensure that Flux credentials reflect current capability -- not just past performance. The FEU requirement is not a bureaucratic hurdle. It is evidence that you have continued to grow as a human-AI professional since you earned your credential.

Passing a higher-tier Flux Challenge automatically renews all lower credentials -- no FEU submission required for lower tiers.

The renewal process

Three steps. Done in minutes.

01

Earn your FEUs

Complete microcredentials, attend events, contribute to the community, or earn a higher Flux tier. FEUs from Symetrec activities are logged automatically.

02

Submit your renewal

When your renewal window opens, submit your FEUs through your dashboard. External activity FEUs require brief documentation for review.

03

Renewal is free

Submitting FEUs to renew your credential is free. The only ongoing cost is the $10/year Symetrec membership that begins on Flux-1 issuance.

The fast path

Two ways to skip the FEU math.

Advancement path

Earn a higher tier.

Passing a higher-tier Flux Challenge automatically renews all lower credentials. No FEU submission required. This is the renewal path that also advances your career.

Example: Pass Flux-3 and your Flux-1 and Flux-2 credentials renew automatically.View certifications
Microcredential path

Complete microcredentials.

Every Symetrec microcredential earns FEUs equal to its duration -- automatically, with no paperwork. Stack enough microcredentials and your renewal requirements are met before you have to think about them.

Example: Complete three 4-hour microcredentials = 12 FEUs. Enough to renew Flux-1 with 2 FEUs to spare.Browse microcredentials
Lapsed credentials

What happens if your credential lapses.

A lapsed Flux credential is marked inactive in the Symetrec registry. It cannot be verified by employers. Your credential history remains on file -- you do not lose the record of having passed. But the active, verifiable status requires renewal.

1

Your credential history is preserved

The record of your original pass, score, and issue date remains in the Symetrec registry permanently.

2

Employer verification shows inactive

Any employer who searches your credential will see it as inactive. The credential cannot be used for employment verification while lapsed.

3

Reinstatement requires full renewal

To reactivate a lapsed credential, restore your Symetrec membership (if delinquent) and submit the required FEUs. There is no grace period extension.

On lapsed credentials

A lapsed credential is not a failed credential. It is an expired one. The distinction matters -- you earned it. Renew it and it is yours again.
