Accessibility
Effective: April 2026
Symetrec is committed to building a platform that meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA conformance level. The Flux Standard is intended to measure professional capability in the human-AI era, and that measurement has to be available to every professional regardless of how they interact with the web.
Our commitment
We treat accessibility as a baseline requirement, not a feature. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard we build against and the standard we audit against. When we fall short of it, we treat that as a defect to fix, not a tradeoff to accept.
This statement describes what we have built toward AA conformance, where we know we still have work to do, and how to tell us when something is broken for you.
What we have built
The platform is built on semantic HTML. Headings, landmarks, lists, and form controls use the elements that describe what they are, so assistive technologies can navigate the structure of every page without relying on visual cues.
Every interactive element on the site is reachable and operable from the keyboard alone. Focus order follows the visual reading order, and every focusable element renders a visible focus indicator. Pages do not depend on hover or pointer events to expose functionality.
We aim for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and meaningful non-text elements, in line with WCAG 2.1 AA. Meaningful imagery carries descriptive alt text; decorative imagery is marked as such so screen readers can skip it. Forms expose labels, error states, and required-field indicators in ways that do not rely on color alone.
Known limitations
Symetrec is currently in early access beta. The marketing pages, credential pages, legal pages, and core authentication flows have been built against WCAG 2.1 AA from the start. Several interactive areas of the platform have not yet been independently audited, and we believe it is honest to say so.
Specifically, the candidate dashboard, the live challenge timer, and the scoring and result views include custom interactive widgets that we are still validating with assistive technologies. Some patterns within those views may not yet meet AA in every assistive-technology configuration.
We are committed to remediating issues as they are surfaced. If you find a barrier in any of these views, please report it. Reports drive our remediation queue.
Reporting accessibility issues
If something on Symetrec is not accessible to you, please tell us. The most useful reports include the page URL, the assistive technology you were using (screen reader, magnifier, switch device, voice control, keyboard only), the browser and operating system, and a description of what you were trying to do and what happened instead.
Symetrec commits to acknowledging accessibility reports within five business days. Acknowledgement is not a fix, but it is a confirmation that a human has read the report and that the issue is in our queue. Substantive remediation timelines will be communicated in the acknowledgement.
